Reflact is the contemporary framework for teaching and learning.

Our framework Reflact (reflect + act) is interdisciplinary and builds on the principles of systemic teaching and learning.

Why Reflact?

We understand learning and teaching differently. We think anything can be googled, youtubed, ChatGPTed. So, instead of telling students what to learn, reflection is more relevant than content. And… action!

Hence, reflect + act = Reflact.

When reflacting, we do not differentiate between students and teachers.
We all learn. We all teach each other. That is what we call lehrnen in german. A creation of lehren (=to teach) + lernen (to learn)

Teachers become learners. Learners become teachers. And we all Reflact.

  • Contact and mindful communication are important components that make Reflact very special. Reflact thrives mutual exchange. We strive for communication at eye level and mutual explicit appreciation.

    Moreover, you will experience Reflact in action via nine Reflact-hoops. On our Systemic Reflacting Journeys, you learn how to create solution-oriented and goal-oriented learning environments.

    With the systemic approach, we assume that we are part of every environment we teach in or work with. Hence, you will reflect on your own attitude and role. We combine online and offline contact design and reflect on hybrid settings that many of us take for granted, but which are rarely actively named in learning processes.

  • Reflact is applicable for any discipline. As an interdisciplinary framework, it can become your approach whether you are an HR expert, a trainer for mechatronics engineers, a lecturer for psychology students, offering further education for systemic consultants or a teacher at a school. Reflact can be used whenever people are supposed to reflact together.

  • Definitely! Reflact is not only a framework, it is also an attitude. This means that it can be relevant in different contexts, e.g. when being in contact with other people. Therefore, Reflact is something for everyone, even far beyond the context of higher education.

  • For a lot of things! Through Reflact, you gain useful suggestions and new inspiration that fits your own design. Our approach can thus help to shapen interactions with other people and, if necessary, to positively expand or transform them. Very often, Reflact is relevant especially for trainees. And we love to Reflact in tandems or “co”. Maybe something you would like to try, too?

  • Let Reflact help you! Reflact can provide helpful suggestions and inspiration for designing your own learning formats. Through exchange, change of perspective and self-reflection, learning formats can be enriched with new impulses and systemic aspects.

  • For any form and size! For small family businesses, medium-sized companies as well as for international corporations, non-profit organizations, associations or other legal forms. Reflact is for everyone because it reaches everyone: whether two, ten or ten thousand individuals.

  • Reflact requires the courage to reflect on our thinking and behaviour in order to act differently. It takes courage to do things differently and to adopt new perspectives! Deceleration in particular can be a real challenge in today's very fast-paced digitalized world.

What are Reflact Hoops?

A Reflact Hoop builds on circular learning.

We reflact in stages: task, competence and development oriented. Throughout the length of a course, be it a one-day-training, a university semester or a year-long advanced systemic education.

Our framework Reflact is interdisciplinary and based on the principles of systemic teaching. Online and offline.

How do we do that?

Let’s assume that knowledge can be very easily googled today. Hence, we see ourselves more as curators and process facilitators than as teachers or instructors.

We approach complex issues with Reflact Hoops in nine steps, which we encounter again and again in a circular way throughout our journey:

 
 
  • Every continuing education, every semester, every module, every lecture begins with the question: what does it take to be able to say at the end that it was valuable learning? In addition to preparation and choreography work, we reflect: How can we best prepare for what we cannot prepare for? Our experiential knowledge about group dynamics assists us.

  • With mindful communication, we create contact, right from the start. A comparison of expectations at the beginning creates orientation and meaning. In the end, everyone recognizes a benefit for themselves, the motivation for independent learning increases.

  • We create space for dialogue in order to anchor what has been learned. We view the form of the "Reflact-Tandems" as further education of the future: We teachers learn from each other. We record our findings in the form of an agile script.

Hey there! We are Dr Astrid Dobmeier and Dr Veronika Sweet.

We are experienced systemic consultants. As freelancers, we work in the field of process support on the macro, meso, and micro levels: in organizations, with teams, and in individual contexts. In deep and broad transformation processes as well as in small change projects. Profit and non-profit.
